Day #151 Flexibility in Hummingbird Craft – Character Development, Week #22

Flexibility
Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.” – Colossians 3:2

I hope you were here to check out how hummingbirds teach us about flexibility. We learned this yesterday, so if you didn’t tune in, I hope you’ll click back. Today, I wanted to bring it home with a really fun craft…making hummingbirds out of peanuts. I was inspired to do this craft (with variations) from Birds & Bloom
Here are your materials: shelled peanuts, makers, feathers, google eyes and a toothpick. I also used a hot glue gun, stick pin and wire cutters as my tools.
The first thing I had the kids do was color the peanuts. Then, they picked out the google eyes and helped me but the toothpicks to the lengths of the nose.
For safety reason, I did the next part. I poked the top of the peanut with a thumb tack so I could insert the toothpick nose. I then hot glued the feathers, google eyes and a ribbon.
Voila’!

What an adorable craft! We will definitely have to try these. My parents love hummingbirds. Thank you for sharing at Sharing Saturday!
