I have another harvest party idea for you – a candy corn name tag. We did name tags for our harvest party last year as well, and these name tags served a couple different purposes. If you are looking for other candy corn ideas, I’d encourage you to check out this candy corn man and candy corn treat bag. Are you sensing a theme?
How did we use these candy corn name tags at the harvest party? You can check out the name tags we used at last year’s harvest party. We did pumpkins.
The name tags are super helpful because you will have new volunteers in the classroom who don’t know any of the kids. This is the first party at the beginning of the year, so it might be their first chance to meet all of the classmates. The parent volunteers can talk to kids by name as well as start to recognize the friends their own child talks about at home.
The other way we used the name tags at the harvest party was to keep track of the different stations the children visit. We set up the harvest party with a bunch of stations (craft, games, activities) where the children rotate around in teams. The stickers help keep track of which booth has already been visited. We have a different sticker set at each station. A child visits the station, receives a sticker and then moves on. If you have 5 different stations, kids will receive 5 different stickers and know that they have completed all of the activities.

Directions for Making a Candy Corn Name Tag
Making this name tag is easy.
- Print out the template and cut the white piece of foam or paper the size of the entire candy corn.
- Then, cut the template into pieces. Use the template to trace both the yellow and orange piece. I only had foam in yellow and white, and it worked fine to mix textiles with the orange being paper. It might even work well with the paper in the center since you are writing on it with Sharpie.
- Once you have all of your pieces, glue it together. I used glue dots because I find them easy, mess-free, and quick to adhere (affiliate link). You could also use white glue to cut costs. Double stick tape is another option.
- Write the child’s name in the middle section.
- Use a hole punch to punch a hole toward the top of the white section.
- Put the yarn through the hole and tie in place. You are done.
I hope this simple idea helps as you are thinking through your own harvest party plans.
