Yesterday we work on being courteous by looking at manners. I hope you’ll check back there if you missed it. Today, we continued on the same course. When I said we were going to work on some more manners. The girls asked for the rude buzzer again. You’ll recall that the rude buzzer goes off when we role play what not to do. We then do it the right way, and the alarm does not sound. There are so many manners to teach your kids. I found a great list called “25 Manners Every Kid Should Know,” and we worked on a handful of them today.
2. Door Etiquette – I taught the girls that when they’re going through a door to always look to see if someone is behind them. If there is someone, open the door and let the other person go through first.
Wonderful list! It’s sad that most adults I know don’t use these manners, so I’m sure their children never will. My 2 year old said “yes ma’am” to another mom the other day, and she almost fell off her chair because her older daughter doesn’t say thank you. Children mimic what the see, not always what you “tell” them.
I love “yes, ma’am.” No one really uses it in our area, but when they do it really stands out. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting.
Great! I can’t wait to read your back posts about manners. Thanks so much for posting this wisdom.
Thank you so much. I hope you have fun poking around our character development series.
