Three simple ingredients: fish rocks, glue, and a paper plate.
I gave them ideas of images we could do – including a flower, butterfly, dinosaur, or fish. They chose to do a flower. Then, I drew a simple image on the paper plate.
Then, we added glue to one section at a time, and they grabbed the right color rocks to put in the spaces. We all worked together to create this design.
Abby had so much fun with this project that she wanted to make her own designs with no help from me. My mom had come to visit. Abby didn’t need a nap, so while her brother and sister were sleeping and I was playing cards with my mom, she was able to sit next to us making her creations.

Love it!! I would never have thought of using fish rock for mosaics, how creative:)
Yea – We did it when I was in Elementary Art Education classes. I had fun then, and my kids enjoyed it now. Thanks!
Beautiful! I’ve never seen anything like this before. I’ll have to stop by the fish department next time I’m at the pet store!
I hope you do it and have a lot of fun. My kids loved it. Thanks!
How fun! Thank you for sharing this week on Saturday Show and Tell. I hope you’ll share again with us this week.

I would love to see if I have time next week. This week has proven to be crazy, and I’m just not finding time to link up even in my usual spots. I hope to link up there in the future. Thanks for letting me know about it.
