OK – I admit it. This isn’t a post about being a meaningful mama. It is a post that shows behind this meaningful mama is a meaningful dada. Camping in the back yard is something that my husband does with the kids. This was a special night with Abby. He has an camping experience with Kenzie planned as well. He has camped with both the girls at the same time too. I really want my kids to enjoy camping even though it’s not really my thing. I love nature. I also don’t mind getting dirty or living in a tent for every reason except for sleeping. Sleeping is not a gift of mine. I wish I could fall asleep and stay asleep anywhere, like my husband. For me, it has to be perfectly quiet and perfectly dark. I wake up with any hint of sun or any hint of noise. Then, I am miserable the next day because I barely slept. I will still brave it every once in a while, but I’m encouraging them making it a daddy daughter event. Camping is so much fun for kids, and I’d love them to grow up less particular than I am about my sleeping arrangements.
This is so much fun! I love that our kids are old enough that they are just as happy doing it in the back yard as they would be 5 hours away! 🙂 Great job, daddy!
Yeah so much easier to do it in the back yard. Last year he did take them real camping too. Thanks for stopping by here today.

I am exactly the same way! I can’t sleep anywhere but my own bed without lights or noise.
I wish it weren’t like that. Thanks for stopping by today!
