If your kids are wasting your time, make them give it back to you by helping. One example that comes into mind is if you have to pull over the car to deal with behavior. I also think of getting into the car and buckling up. The kids tend to stall and not get into the car seats very quickly. They don’t buckle up like they are suppose to. This can be a frustrating time. Start counting. I used to do this when I taught 4th grade. I would start counting if they were not giving me their attention. For every second they wasted, they owed me a second of recess. This is applicable to parenting too. Maybe they are stalling at bed time. Every minute after bedtime that they keep coming downstairs, they owe you work time the next day.
