Some of you may wonder what I do with the little guy while we are doing all of our activities. I often let him join along in some fashion. Sometimes we do things while he is napping. Here’s another idea that works for us. I like to pass on practical, simple ideas that have been really helpful for me, so here it goes. I have inexpensive rolls of paper for drawing, wrapping or other uses. Sometimes I will tape a big piece of paper onto the table to protect it from a 20 month old wielding markers. I then let him have fun. To be extra thrifty and green, you can turn the paper over next time you want to use it. Sometimes he’ll end up with marker all over his body, and I just try and be laid back about that. Generally, he just keeps it on the paper though. It makes crafts with the girls a lot easier when he is strapped down but happily occupied.
Another great way to entertain a toddler is through books. Here is a great guide for the best books for toddlers.
Yes, thank you for this tip! I have been “purchasing” the free Kindle books on crafts for kids during homeschooling and nothing has really “pinged” for me; this one does. I can do this one! Thank you!!!!!
