Kenize’s birthday party is coming up this weekend. My sweet girl is going to be 4. She decided she wanted to have a spring birthday party. She was saying ladybug for a long time, so I was there mentally. Then, she switched. We accommodated. What does every party need? A cute invitation. These spring flower invitations were made with Kenzie’s fingerprints. It’s really special to have that added touch.
We bought plain white card stock invitations for the project. Then, I helped Kenzie use a stamp pad and her finger to make her fingerprints into the shape of a flower.
You will want to do this with all of your invitations.
Next, I put a button in the center of each one with hot glue. I also used a marker to draw the stem.
Next, I needed to make the leaves. I wanted a three dimensional look. You can see the shape I made for the leaves. I made a template and traced it over and over on green paper. To save on time, I layered a few strips of green so that I could cut out a few at a time. Once I cut out the leaves. I pulled the open Pac-Man mouth edge together and glued with hot glue. This makes the leaf pop three dimensionally off the paper. I hot glued those leaves to the bottom of the stem.
You have an adorable, simple, flower, fingerprint invitation for a spring or flower party. This could also be a card or just a piece of art.
I used my phone and didn’t get a great picture of the inside, but this was the main idea. I’m looking forward to a busy week of preparing for her birthday. Pray for me. 😉
