Spring Flower Cupcake
This bright, fun spring flower cupcake is another design I created for Better Homes and Gardens. It is exciting to be writing for Better Homes and Gardens. I take it as a huge compliment to be selected by them as a contributor. They asked me to create a spring inspired cupcake, and these bright fondant flowers were my design solution to the challenge. I used the headbands I created with my girls as inspiration.
The flower gives a dramatic look, but it is easier to create than you’d imagine. I do believe it can be created by decorators of all levels, which makes it very accessible. In the Better Homes and Gardens post you will also find a link to my very first YouTube tutorial, which will help as you create this design. Please stop by Better Homes and Gardens to see the full tutorial.
This is only one color combination. I made another color combination so that you could get a better idea of how this could really work for a variety of color schemes and occasions. I even like the thought of doing a black and white design with white frosting a stark black flower. Here is the lime green and coral combination I created:
I think most people are inspired and invigorated by the colors and sensations of spring. I know that these beginning sunny days bring new life to me as they are also bringing new life to the trees, animals and world around us. It is amazing how that works. If you want more spring inspiration, I’m going to add some other food ideas inspired by spring here.
