Today is Mothers Day…and I’ve hijacked this blog.
I am married to this Meaningful Mama and I am the luckiest man in the world. Seriously, you readers get to see what this amazing lady does every day to post such great stuff on this blog, but I get to live it! I am better because of her, my kids are better because of her, and our family is truly blessed because of her. By the way, if you all don’t know, what you see in this blog really isnt a facade. What she does here comes from her heart to be a great mom and it is lived out in who she is every day. She doesn’t just post this stuff and then become a different person, she lives this stuff. I don’t want you all to think everything is ‘perfect’. That would set an unhealthy goal, and we all have enough of those unrealistic ideal thrown at us every day. Rather, that there is a ton of integrity in the person, my wife, that is creating the content you see. The activities, teaching content, character traits…everything. She is truly is a Meaningful Mama.
Since it is “Mother’s Day”, I thought I’d get the kids’ thoughts too. Here are a few of the things they said about her when I asked “Why do you love mommy?”
I love her because she loves me…then with the cutest face youve ever seen softly said ‘I love her’
I love mommy because she…
…makes yummy food
…does a great job
…thinks of cool things to do
…lets me watch lots of shows (I guess an hour a day is “lots”)
…puts me to bed sometimes
…plays games with me
…goes outside with me
…give things to me
…helps us write letters
…does school with me
…takes care of me
…makes sure I am safe
It’s Mothers Day that was the catalyst for me to write this, but the thoughts and feelings are there all the time. I am incredibly grateful to God for bringing this amazing woman into my life. Happy Mother’s Day Jodi!! I love you so much. You are a spectacular Mom and wife and you are doing a superb job.
