· It’s embarrassing when your child acts up in public. It’s good to acknowledge that you know there’s a problem that you are addressing. Being able to say, “I’m sorry, we are working on that” is a great way to diffuse a situation. It can be as simple as asking your child to say hello to someone and they ignore you or keep their head down the entire time with a faint whisper to a tantrum that is thrown in a store. Make sure you follow up and spend time working on that.
Hi Jodi! I thought of you today as I said this exact phrase while visiting preschools with my oldest son today when meeting new adults. He was shy and didn’t shake hands at first and I said, “We are working on greeting others.” Thanks for all the awesome tips! I haven’t been in blogger world as much lately as my sweet baby boy #3 is due to join us Tues., but I do love your blog and all your amazing tips! 🙂
