It’s almost New Year’s Eve. Are you wondering what kind of fun you are going to have to bring in the new year? I want to share with you how we brought in 2014 with our friends. It was super casual, but our milkshake bar for our New Year’s Eve party was a hit. We paired our milkshake extravaganza with really fun friends, games and comfy clothes. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. Here are a few more ideas to bring in the new year with your family: DIY New Year’s straw noise makers, family time capsule craft, and DIY New Year’s Eve party hats.
How to Create a Really Tasty Milkshake Bar
Who doesn’t love milkshakes? Pair the idea of milkshakes with the make-your-own combination of additional ingredients, and you can’t really lose. So, how do you make a milkshake bar seem a bit more special? I made a fun and festive sign with a gold glitter border. I also found some really fun milkshake glasses at Goodwill. Those two components added a little bit of extra pizazz to the concept. I also added a black backdrop to bring in a New Year’s color combination. What kind of milkshake ingredients did I provide for my friends?
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Chocolate Ice Cream
- Chocolate Fudge
- Dark Chocolate Sauce
- Caramel Sauce
- Peanut Butter
- Kahlua
- Mint Oreos
- Oreos
- Butterfingers
- Reese’s Pieces
- M & M’s
- Frozen Blueberries
Our friends had fun making their own unique combinations. I’m not sure anyone ended up with the exact same combination. I also added little Dixie cups so that everyone could try the different milkshake combinations made by others. I’m always thinking of a way where I can taste everything.
Pair yummy milkshakes with fun games like Mafia, Pictionary and Four on the Couch and you have a perfect New Year’s Eve party…at least in my opinion. I spent so many years heading out and trying to find the most fun event to attend. I have loved the last few years where I have a smaller gathering in the casual comfort of home with friends.
