Pumpkin Scones with a Pumpkin Spice Glaze

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 Tbsp sugar + extra for dusting
  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup chilled butter
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3 Tbsp half and half

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degree
  2. In large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients.
  3. Cut in butter. A trick for this is to take your chilled butter and grate it. Then, stir it in.
  4. Make a well in the center, than add sour cream, pumpkin puree and half and half. Stir until just combined…do not over mix!
  5. On a floured surface, gently knead.
  6. Pat dough gently into a circle, until 1/2” thick. For smaller scones, make the dough into two circles first.
  7. Cut with pizza roller into triangles.
  8. Dust the top of the scones with sugar.
  9. Place scones on parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake 10-12 minutes until lightly browned.
  10. Cool on wire racks.
  11. Make the Pumpkin Spice Glaze and drizzle over the top.
