Because people seem to enjoy cakes, I’ve decided to add another one of mine every once in a while. This was the cake I did for my sister-in-law’s wedding. It was my first wedding cake. I’ve only done two total. This was out on the hottest day of the year, and it wasn’t under a tent, so it did start to sag a bit by the time these pictures were taken. I still don’t know how I could have prevented it. I had intended to do borders too, but when I went to work with the chocolate fondant it was like goo in my hands on this hot day. I was in the wedding, so I just didn’t have the time to baby it like a needed to. I do have my practice cake pictured below so you can see the intentions for the border. It was a really fun cake to do, and it was actually relatively easy. If it hadn’t been so stinkin’ hot that day, I would have been overly excited about the results. I loved this design, however, and I had a lot of fun doing it.
Wow what a beautiful cake
Thank you!
It is still quite beautiful!!
Thanks so much!
Really pretty! The cake at my wedding was outside too–and for a few minute my dad had to stand over it with a giant umbrella because of rain 🙂
Funny. I went to a wedding in the pouring down rain once, and I thought it was sooo cool with the umbrellas all about.
Wow, that is just fabulous. I love the design, especially the colors.
Thank you.
Just gorgeous. I love the brown and white combination….you really have great style!!!
Thank you so much. It was a really fun cake to do.

I really love this cake too, looks like I am certainly not the only one. Everything I have seen on your site so far is quite unique and very creative. I still have a lot to look at but I’ve left the browser window open on my computer to your site since I ran across it a fed days ago. Thanks again for sharing everything and good luck with your continued ideas and creativity (although it really doesn’t look like you need it)
