Butterfly Pasta Canvas Art
I wanted to get my kids involved in helping to create their own art for their bedroom. I gave them a few ideas, and this butterfly pasta canvas art was the final decision. It was a simple, graphic design and easy for the kids to do. We love the results now that they are hung in their room. I love the clean look, but I also love that the kids were so involved in creating it. We replaced a piece of art I had created before I even had children. This is great art for a children’s room, craft room, school room or Sunday School room.
Materials Needed
~ Painting Canvas
~ Paint Brushes
~ Craft Paint
~ Butterfly (Bow Tie) Pasta
~ Hot Glue Gun
Written Instructions
1. Have kids use craft paint to paint pasta in a variety of colors to match your chosen decor. We did two coats on the pasta to make sure to have full coverage.
2. Once these are dry, you can hot glue them on a canvas. We set them in place beforehand so they looked like they were swarming around the 3 canvases. Once we had our composition, I began to hot glue them in place.
You’re done. It’s that simple. Below you will find some pictures of the process. I also included a picture of the girls’ bed spread we were trying to match. I also included some other artwork I made a while back to match the bed spread. The purpose of showing this is for you to be inspired about how you can create artwork by drawing simple patterns out of a bedspread or main focus of a room. Below you will also see the final results with a straight ahead look. I hope you are inspired to create your own butterfly pasta art with kids.
Love this! so simple but it looks very effective. Also a great way to get the kids involved in arts and crafts and produce something spectacular they can hang on their wall and see everyday. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for commenting. I do enjoy creating crafts with them that you actually want to keep and display!
