It was a beautiful day around here, and so I looked out for a unique outdoor activity. These big foot races were a lot of fun for the girls. All you do is take shoe boxes and cut holes big enough so your kids can slip their feet in. Then, you tape the lid to the box, have the kids put them on and race. I love the idea of this activity. I would definitely recommend wearing socks because my daughter that wasn’t wearing socks started having the cardboard become uncomfortable on her ankles. The race was fun, but it would probably been better suited if they were one or two years older. Kenzie (my middle girl) ended up winning. She tends to be drawn to activities that are more physical like this. I could really see this being a hit at a camp or in a youth group setting. Fun stuff.
How fun!! My 5 yr old loves dinosaurs and I’m thinking it would be an awesome birthday party activity with the shoe boxes made to look like dinosaur feet. Thanks for the great idea!
OH – That would be perfect. I’d love to see a picture of the race if you end up doing it. I bet they’ll have a blast, and I will definitely keep dinosaur feet in mind now that I have my boy.
