Looking for a really fun birthday party idea? I hope this ice cream birthday inspires your own creativity. With a variety of ice cream inspired food ideas, fun decors and activity ideas, your kids and their friends will have a blast.
The day finally arrived. Abby has been so excited to turn five. The day of her party, she came downstairs with her outfit and said, “Mom, it says 4T. Do you think it will still fit?” She was so excited to have an ice cream party, and I was excited to host. I was definitely inspired by this post I found on Pinterest that featured these cones. Above you see our tablescape. I want to bring you one more ice cream party post tomorrow that will give you some ideas how to bring it all together and also provide you some of the printables my husband made for the party. Today, I’ll just show you the party. We gave the kids a number of choices. We provided strawberry, chocolate and vanilla ice cream. There were the hand dipped chocolate cones, of course. They could also eat from a sundae dish or their little take home ice cream bowl. They had all the toppings (Chocolate Sprinkles, Rainbow Sprinkles, M & M’s, Chocolate Syrup, Caramel, Strawberries, Nuts and Cherries) available. We also offered root beer floats, which are a personal favorite. Finally, I provided the cupcakes that looked like a huge, stacked ice cream cone for anyone who didn’t want ice cream. The kids had so much fun making their own personal choices.
Here you have the tables where the kids ate. We were planning on doing the whole party outside, but it was drizzling here in the Pacific NW. Luckily, we have a nice little covered area where we could still do the ice cream eating. I’ll be providing the printable my husband made for the ice cream hats/bottom of the ice cream cone balloon. You’ll have to check in tomorrow for those. These are helium balloons attached to the cones. If you’ve been hanging out on this site, you saw me make the napkins with my newest skill – mitered edges. The ice cream shooters were a huge hit from Oriental Trading Company.

We played two games. I’ll show you a bit more of how I made this one tomorrow, but it is basically corn hole turned into a more kid friendly bean bag toss version. It was perfect for the large age range we had at the party. All the kids liked it, and I had them stand at different spots depending on their age.
We also played a homemade pin the cherry on the ice cream cone.

I love this party!!! I am having an ice cream party for my daughter next weekend and I printed off the ice cream cone hats, I want to use them as ice cream cones with the helium balloons on the tables but I was wondering how you attached them to the table?
