Yesterday I was able to expose my children to one of my own favorite childhood movies, Pollyanna. Today, we decided to adopt her game, the glad game. I’m a tad competitive, so we kept points. Throughout the day, I wanted to encourage them to find things that were making them glad. Even if the situation was not ideal for them, I encouraged them to focus on the positive. I probably should have used a sticker chart or something, but we were on the go a lot, so I just kept a running total. It was fun to have them really trying to think of things all day long. If they forgot, I’d every once in a while give a reminder that the game was still going on.
