My kids loved this activity and wanted to play with it over and over. I did it for them. They did it for me. It really challenges their sense of touch, which is great for development. It’s simple too, and it can be made in moments – always a plus!
All you do is take a box and cut a hole out of the center. I used a straight edge and a razor to cut. The handy tool you see above has a razor blade you can pop out. It is also designed to open those pesky plastic packages that seem impossible to open. Definitely a tool we recommend. Do these think the items inside are going to escape or something?
I took a old piece of fabric, cut it out and hot glued the top edge to the inside of the box. Then, I filled the box with a variety of items.
It’s time to play. They reach inside and choose one item. They feel it and try and guess what they’ve found. You can change out the items and play over and over. I pinned this idea from Kreative Resources.
