So, I set out the T-Ball set and laid out a number flashcards labelled from 1-10. The kids would take turns hitting the ball. The number that it went over or landed close to was the number they needed to identify. Abby is learning Spanish in school too, so we said the number in Spanish as well as English. The number represented the number of times they need to do an activity. Then, I would yell out what they needed to do . For example, if it landed close to 3, I would say, “Ok, do three somersaults.” Here are some of the activities I had them do:
* somersaults
* push-ups
* run to the tree and back
* high fives
* jump into my arms
* high jumps
* twirls
We have been blessed with a beautiful fall. I’m not sure it rained one day in September, and there is sun in the forecast as far as I can see for October. Amazing for the Pacific Northwest. We are loving it. I have already confessed to being a fair weather mom, so it’s great to have weather that allows us to be outside. I love to make learning fun. I also have wanted to find more opportunities to keep my kids more active. I grew up doing sports and loving it. I feel like I haven’t exposed my kids enough. I’m trying. Today I decided to incorporate T-Ball, learning numbers, Spanish and being active.
If your kids are just learning to read and write their numbers, I think you are going to love this resource. These are number formation rhymes that help kids remember how to write their numbers.
