1 c. peanut butter (peanut butter with no sugar added is always a better choice)
1 tbsp. butter – I just used a little extra pb instead of butter
1 cup oatmeal
1/3 cup flax seed meal
1/2 c. walnuts finely chopped
1 c. raisins (other dried fruit or mini chocolate chips)
Graham cracker crumbs from about 2 full crackers
Mix all ingredients except graham crackers. Roll into mouth-sized balls and roll in graham cracker crumbs. Serve immediately or can be chilled.

I was first exposed to moon balls at the park. My friend brought them to share with all the kids. They were devoured…one after another. I tasted them and thought they were fabulous too. I asked for the recipe, and now I share it with you.
Moon Balls
YUUUMMM! I make something similar ….love the idea of rolling in graham cracker crumbs.

What an interesting idea! I have been getting tired of the same old stuff for snacks we have been having lately. This looks like something fun my kiddos could actually help make and we all know kids are more inclined to eat something they help prepare. Thanks for the idea, I am totally going to try these next week!
I’ve made these three times now. This last time, my kids cheered! I keep them in the fridge for after school.
Yeah! I love to hear that. I’m so glad you all enjoyed them!
I used to make double batches of Chocolate Chip cookies before our five children came home from school. They were probably not the healthiest snack but they were very popular. I think the Moon Balls would be healthier and delicious as well.
Thanks for commenting. They’re super good. Let me know if you try them. I’d love to hear what you think.
