Our activity yesterday involved learning to make a plan, act on that plan and reflect. So, the first thing we did was make a plan, and I let them brainstorm how to get it all done. As we worked, I talked about things that seemed efficient. Here were some thoughts:
* Take everything that goes in their bedrooms and put it into one bin we can take in there all in one haul.
* Work on one category at a time (i.e. clean up all the doll stuff or kitchen stuff).
* Kenzie was walking to the dress up clothes, and I saw her pick up another item on the way, so I commented on how efficient that is.
* I had to take a couple things downstairs, and I grabbed something that belonged upstairs on my way back up.
* We had to re-focus a couple times, so I talked about staying focused helps in efficiency.
Finally, we had our results:
Efficiency
“Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity…”
– Ephesians 5:15-16
A great time to talk about efficiency is in cleaning. We used this opportunity today as we cleaned up our cluttered kids’ zone.
