Today I stole an activity from my good friend, Mackenzie, from Cheerios and Lattes. OK – Good friend simply means we have determined that we would be actual friends in the real world rather than only the blogging world if we lived closer. The idea is simple. Have spaghetti noodles and craft buttons. Tell the kids that it takes a gentle touch to be able to string the buttons on the noodles. If needed, put the spaghetti noodle in a piece of small fruit so the buttons don’t slip off one end. As she referenced, it is a great way to teach gentleness when you’ll have a new baby in the house. I definitely spent time with my kids teaching gentle hands every time a new baby arrived, and it made a world of difference. For us today, it brought the need to be gentle with our touch to life.
Gentleness
“But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” – 1 Peter 3:15
