Amazing Homemade Bread Machine Dinner Rolls

November 21, 2012 · by jodidurr · 3 Comments

I am always asked to bring the rolls. Why? This recipe. If I receive compliments about my cooking, you’ll often hear me say, “I’m not a good cook. I just have a lot of good recipes.” I went to a garage sale once and bought a $10 bread machine. This recipe comes from the cookbook that came with it. It has been my roll recipe ever since. These will be served on Thanksgiving day.

Dinner Rolls (makes 15)

1 cup water
2 Tbsp butter, softened
1 egg
3 1/4 cup Bread Flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
3 tsp regular active dry yeast or 3 tsp bread machine or quick-acting dry yeast.

3 Tbsp butter (give or take) for brushing on top

Directions
1. Place all dough ingredients in a bread pan in the order listed. Select the dough cycle and press start

2. Grease cookie sheet or use a non-stick sheet. Divide dough into 15 pieces (small handfuls). Shape each piece into a ball. I roll it out and tie it in a knot. It’s just how I have always done it, so take your pick. Place 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet. Brush with butter. Cover; let rise 30-40 minutes or until doubled in size.
3. Heat oven to 375. Bake 9-12 minutes or until golden brown.

[…] I set out to create my own version. You could definitely use Rhodes Bread, but I decided to use my favorite bread machine roll recipe. These rolls are amazing, and I knew they’d make a good base. So, is your mouth […]
