Paper Towel Roll Christmas Angels

This toilet paper roll angel with coffee filter wings was really fun to do. It also helps focus on the meaning behind the season. You can talk to your kids about the Christmas story from the angel’s perspective. What might they have felt witnessing and bringing the joyful news of a Savior?
The first thing I did was take a paper towel roll and cut it in half.
It was then time to paint. I drew a pencil line. I had Kenzie paint above the line pink and below the line blue.
I cut out a strip of yellow paper for the hair and bangs. Kenzie added the frays.
I added the hair and the sequin neckline with a hot glue on.  I also glued on a shiny pipe cleaner halo (not pictured above).
We drew on our own faces. Kenzie used google eyes for her angel. I can’t help but join in.

We colored around the edges of the coffee filter. You can keep two filters together, and it bleeds through a bit. You’ll just want to color on both sides. I folded a coffee filter in half, wrapped it around the body and glued it in place for the arms. Construction paper created the little pink hands. I hot glued the wings on in two different layers to create the wing look.
