We have hope. We have hope mostly because of Jesus and what he did for us. We also have hope because we have seen God keep his promises throughout all time and have faith he will continue to keep his promises. However, we can also have hope because I know there are great parents out there doing their best to raise their kids to be contributing, loving members of this world. I know we see a lot of gloom and doom in the news. It can be disheartening. However, I sometimes like to look at the micro-level. I know so many parents who are doing amazing things with their kids. I know some of those parents are my readers. We have hope because you are making concerted efforts to be intentional in your parenting. Today is about the hope of the future because of the kids we are raising. As we did this craft, I explained to the kids that I have hope because they are the future. They are the future politicians, missionaries, parents, doctors, teachers, and leaders in our world. I explain to them that we, as parents, are doing best to raise them to love God, love people and know how to act with hard work, self control, honesty….really all the traits we have been working on this year and more. We then made a hope collage out of children’s faces.
I had the girls look through magazines and cut out pictures of kids.
The next step was to have the kids glue down the images onto a piece of paper.
After the collage was created, I cut the paper into quarters.
I then cut the quarters into four letters – H-O-P-E (as ween above). You can glue these letters to another piece of paper or hang the individually as a reminder that kids are part of the hope of the future.
These children are our future. Our hope is that we have parents raising up these little ones to make a big difference in our world. Join me in this fight.
