I love Jeremiah 29:11, and I have wanted to highlight it this week with the girls and you. “‘I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future.'” What great promises. I thought it would be fun to leave a trail of words that lead to a treasure. I cut a bunch of index cards into thirds and write out the verse, one word at a time, on each card. I then laid them out in a trail. I had Abby read the words as we followed the trail. I spent some time before considering what should be at the end of the trail. I decided the greatest gift to give us hope is Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross and his Word (the Bible) to communicate with us and teach us his ways. So, we found that treasure, and I told them that this is where our hope should remain. I also explained the verse a bit more.
Hopeful
And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. – Romans 5:5
