Soft Pretzels Recipe
1 Can refrigerated French Bread Dough
1 eggs
1 Tbsp Water
Coarse Salt – to taste
Bake 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
Soft pretzels are easy to make…at least this version. All you do is take refrigerated French bread dough (found by the biscuits and refrigerated cookie dough). Have your kids role out snakes and then shape them into letters. It’s a great way to work on letter recognition, sounds or spelling. You may need some flour if the dough gets to sticky. Once you’ve made all of your letters, put them on a greased cookie sheet. Then, brush the pretzel letters in a mixture of 1 egg white and 1 Tbsp water. Sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake the pretzels at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Once pretzels cool, it is time to eat. We were lucky to have grandma around today helping with this activity.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, School Time Snippets! I sent you an email about those cookies. I like your idea with the dough! I like that you spelled their names; I am sure the kids just loved it!
I’ll keep my eye open for those cookies. Thank you so much for taking the time to write me back. If I can’t find them at Safeway I’ll check out Albertsons. I think food must be a love language…works with them every time.
This is such a fun way to learn to write their names. Could even to do this for learning letters too..hmm.. now my mind is turning 🙂 Thanks for sharing and inspiring us at Sharing Saturday. Hope to see you again next week.
