“And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:17
To choose to do right, you must know what is right. God gave us his laws in the Ten Commandments. These “rules” were set to make life run better for us. Can you imagine playing a game of basketball if no rules were established? God wants the best for us, so he gave us a guide. The first thing my girls did was watch a Dr. Laura video called “God’s Top Ten.” I found this at our church library.
Then, I got out the game “Chutes and Ladders.” We played it once. The examples on there are good. Things that are good and right help you go up the ladders. Things that are good and bad make you fall down the slide. It’s a great example in and of itself. The second round was different though. I decided I wasn’t going to play by the rules. After that frustrated them and wasn’t working so well, I was able to talk to them about why rules are put into place and how following them makes life run smoother.
