Corban just turned 3, and he wanted a superhero birthday party for his third birthday. Therefore, I want to talk about “How to Host a Super Cool Superhero Party” today. Superheroes are hot right now, and I was very excited about creating a really fun party for my little man. Need some ideas for your own superhero party? I hope you find this very helpful. I also hope you were able to see our super hero invitations. OK – So, the invitations were dated wrong, but my guests figured it out and did arrive at the party. I really wanted to highlight Superman, Spiderman and Batman well in this party. I’m going to give you the big party overview today, and I’ll break it down for you more with tutorials on how to create this superhero party on your own. Part of my intended tutorials  to come will include learning how to do the backdrops, cake, and food for the party.
One of the things I wanted to have ready for the kids for the party was the party favors. Party City is the place to go to find all things superhero. It’s one stop shopping at Party City, and I was able to get the Spiderman favor containers, Batman tattoos, wristbands, Batarangs and Superman flying discs. They were also able to take home their Spiderman cups, which I forgot to tell them and had to deliver to parents later.
It was a great little party favor pail to take home, and I used it as decorations for the table also. I made sure to represent all of the superheroes in the party favor pack.
I will give a tutorial later for the superhero cityscape wall, but it is a super inexpensive way to decorate. They buildings are made out of colorful foam.
Here’s the table decorations. I was able to get Spiderman paper plates and Superman napkins from Party City too. With the plates, napkins and party pails, the decor is virtually done. The tablecloth I also found at Party City, and it was perfect for the decor. It was a metallic red fabric tablecloth. I thought the metallic shimmer gave a superhero feel. These absolutely fabulous superhero words – Zap, Bam, Splat, Pow, Wham, and Pop were created my super talented husband. He has mad skills and really pulled it out to bring you a wonderful printable I will provide in a future post.
I also was able to use the metallic table cloth as fabric for my food table backdrop. The tutorial for this backdrop, food and cake is to come, but I wanted to show you the big picture here.
And here’s the little man! Happy Birthday, my sweet boy. You bring so much joy to our lives. You are a total goof and will do anything to make people laugh. You were born with a happy heart, and we love having you around. You are great at talking, still need to learn to use a potty, love your sisters, and are all boy. You’ll run into things full speed or fall over and are not be phased. You like cars, tools, trucks, trains, superheroes…anything boy. However, you have a very sweet nature and will give your momma hugs and kisses willingly. You also are sensitive if someone is hurting or sad. Eating is OK for you. You can be a bit picky and seem to want to try less and less, which is moving in the wrong direction. We struggle with eczema on your back, and you itch a lot. We’re trying to find the right creams and oatmeal baths to try and tackle it. I call you “Buddy,” “Nutter Budders” (I know I spelled that wrong…it’s because of being my buddy), or “Corbo.” You are super social. You like to talk and will go up and chat with anyone. Everyone wants to touch your fuzzy little head as you walk past, and you really do spread your smile out to the world. We love you, Little Man. What a blessing you are to our family. God knew exactly what we needed to complete the picture.
Your friends came dressed in their superhero fabulous outfits.
We had a lot of family there too. What a blessing to be surrounded by such a great family.
Here is my beautiful mom & mother-in-law ready to celebrate their grandson.
I couldn’t resist adding a picture of Wonder Woman with my dad.
I got a chance to snuggle my little superhero also.
The kids were able to dive in and enjoy all the superhero treats.
The party games were provided by Party City too. This was the Superman Party Game. Corban’s symbol he was suppose to pin on the Superman is behind him on the wall there. Hilarious.
This spiderman game with velcro balls was fun for the kids too. For the prizes, I gave the winners the Dark Night Batman Batarangs and Safety Lights.
Corban loved opening all of his gifts, perfectly picked for his interests.
The piñata is always a favorite for kids. I chose the Spiderman pull string piñata. I was also able to get a bag of candy from Party City. See what I mean by “one stop shopping?”
Kenzie was satisfied with her stash.
The cake and singing of “Happy Birthday” always a highlight also.
There’s always the aftermath, but it was well worth it to celebrate all that Corban brings to our lives. Happy Birthday, “Super Guy.”
