- Whisk egg and butter together with the buttermilk.
- Pour the flour mixture into the buttermilk mixture and whisk until smooth.
- Heat a large skillet pan
over medium heat, and melt a bit butter for cooking. Pour batter onto the skillet (about 1/4 cup), and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a spatula, and cook until browned on the other side.
I used to just make Bisquick pancakes, but once I was given the perfect homemade pancake recipe, there was no going back. These take only a few extra minutes, and the effort is well worth it. I’m convinced that once you try this recipe, you won’t return to another. Enjoy!

Hello! I just tried your recipe and I liked it. However I still would love to see the difference between the old one and this. Can you email me or leave it here please ?? I found the others one fluffier ? If that makes sense Thanks
Adding more to my comment: once the battery was sitting a bit longer , it became fluffier so the first pancakes were flat not sure why but then batter raised I guess. ! Still delicious. I still would love to see the difference.
Thanks for that feedback. I had never noticed that. I think I would assume it would yield opposite results. Great to get that feedback!
I linked to the exact same recipe I used to have on my site. I wonder why you experienced such a difference. I wonder if it is what you noticed later – how long the batter sat. You’ll have to let me know if they still feel different the next time you make them. Thanks!
Hello Jodi! Yes there must be something with my ingredients. They are not turning up as fluffy as the ones before. Where did you say you linked the old recipe ? My family is still asking for the old one. I’m sorry I am sure it’s something I’m doing wrong. But for some reason I liked the other one better. I am using Whole Foods organic all purpose flour, organic unsalted butter, organic milk, organic cane, basically the same as before except I notice its calling for less vinegar for the butter milk. If you still have the other recipe please pass it along. I will really appreciate it !
Thanks !!
I can´t find the recipe – where is it?
Amanda

You know – It totally could be. I live in the pacific NW. I wonder if you’re right. I’ll be curious to here your experience. Thanks!
Hi! I think some of us still want to see the old recipe …
can you please share it on a comment or reply please ? Can not find the link for the old recipe. Thanks a bunch !!!
I looked back in my archived version of my site and compared the two recipes. The only difference was the old one was just the current one doubled. I’m not quite sure what else to do to help out because my archived post doesn’t have anything different. Do you happen to remember what you believe was different about the two? Eeek!
My favorite! I can’t wait to try this out! The picture looks so stunning! Thank you so much!
Thanks so much! You won’t be disappointed. These are the best!
