It’s been a bit rainy in our neck of the woods lately. Rainy days call for creative indoor activities. This paper plane tape landing strip may be just what you need to pass some of the time indoors while winter enjoys its final days of cold and wet. This activity is quick to set up and fun to do for quite a while. All you need is some masking tape and paper for paper planes. I have to admit that this was a Meaningful Dada activity. I have a wonderful husband who is a great father. He did this with the kids when I was away one afternoon and documented the whole experience. The kids had a lot of fun both learning how to create the airplanes and having a landing strip to gain points based on where the planes landed. They were eager to show me when I walked through the door.
I knew something was coming when I came home that day. Isn’t my husband sweet. If you are wondering how he wrote on the door, I encourage you to take a look at my tutorial using clear chalkboard paint. Yes, there is such a thing. It was a fun project I did on the front door, and I’ve loved having it to write nice messages on the door for both strangers and guests.
The kids were able to take turns as they competed to get the best scores with their airplanes.
What a fun activity. It is an idea you can propose to your husband too. Guys love this kind of stuff. As a wife, make sure you are proposing ideas in a loving way that doesn’t seem like you are nagging or being critical. Dads often appreciate ideas to engage the kids, as long as you present it with proper motives and respect.
