This toilet paper roll fish craft for kids is both inexpensive to create and easy for kids of all ages. Whether you are working with preschoolers, kindergarteners or older kids, everyone will have fun creating these adorable and colorful fish.
If you have been hanging around here, you know I am doing crafts for the Awana Cubbies group at my church. Today I bring you the Toilet Paper Roll Fish – Awana Bear Hug #5 Craft.
This craft is fabulous for any fish lesson. This can be a fun craft to do in any school. It is also a great fish craft for Sunday School. Below I will add a bunch of Bible stories that involve fish.
Materials Needed to Make Toilet Paper Roll Fish – Awana Bear Hug #5 Craft – Creation Craft for Day 5:
- Toilet Paper Rolls (1 per child)
- Paper Plates
- Markers or Crayons
- Stapler
- Scissors
- Paint Brush or Foam Brush
- Craft Paints
- Google Craft Eyes
- Glue or Glue Dots
Your kids will want to paint the toilet paper roll to the color of their choice. This will need time to dry, so if you are doing them for AWANA you can either do them the week before or at the beginning of your meeting.
Once dry, you will want to cut a two triangles out of one end of the toilet paper tube as shown above.
You will want to cut out different size fins – one for the top, one for the side and one for the tail. We prepped a bunch of these before the Cubbies club meeting. If you are prepping a lot of them, it will be helpful to cut one to size and use it as a template. If forgot to get a picture, but they can color these fins with marker or crayon.
The toil you want to slide in the back and staple it in place.
You will glue on the google eyes and other two fins with white glue.
What are Some Bible Stories that Include Fish?
There are many Bible stories that involve fish. There are verses as well that we want to teach our kids.
- Miraculous Catch of Fish – John 21
- “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” – Matthew 4:18-22 and Mark 1:16-20
- Jesus Feeds 5000 – Matthew 14
- Jonah and the Big Fish – Jonah
- Coin Found in Fish Mouth – Matthew 17
- Day 5 of Creation – God created the sea animals – Genesis 1
