Why Have a Christ-Centered Easter Basket?
Of course you can still add the candy and bunny ears to the basket, but what if we combined or substituted those with the story of the greatest gift ever given to this world? These Christ-centered Easter basket ideas help you do just that.
The real story of Easter is about the God of the universe recognizing our need for a Savior. His great love for us caused him to find a solution to the divide we have with Him. Our sin separates us from a completely holy God.
The good news is that we don’t need to be perfect before we accept God’s free gift of salvation that ushers us into his presence. “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
Jesus came as the perfect sacrificial lamb to wash us clean and re-unite us with the Creator. He did this by his death on the cross.
However, it didn’t end there. Christ proved to be the Messiah through his resurrection. Everything in Christianity hinges on the resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:14 reminds us, “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.”
This is what we celebrate on Easter – that Christ not only died for our sins, but he proves out his sovereignty by raising from the dead. This gives us the hope that we too will receive the resurrection and eternal life after we die.
