Patience
“And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.” 1 Thessalonians 5:14 NIV
When teaching character to kids, I like to use a variety of learning experiences. Today, we really focused on music (building into auditory learning) as well as hands-on experience (accommodating tactile learners). The “Be Patient” Song and Play-Doh Snails helped my kids learn about patience from another angle.
And there you have Herbert the Snail. Also, want to let you a know about a great book series that has a wonderful book on patience. The series is called “Building Christian Character.” The author is Michael P. Waite, and he has a number of books. His book on patience is called, “Sammy’s Gadget Galaxy: A Book About Patience (Building Christian Character).” I highly recommend it! We were able to read that book to our kids as well to drive home the concept of patience.
Hi! I love this post! I too remember the Be Patient song as a child from Music Machine. Can’t wait to show the you tube video to my boys. thanks for sharing!
I listened to in on a record player. I LOVE that song. I am going to go right now (ok, after I am done looking here) and find it on Youtube.
