We are headed into the fall season. It’s time for harvest. It is time for pumpkins. Today I bring you 10 beautiful no-carve pumpkins.
Our family is trying to move away from the celebration of Halloween (with all the scary stuff) and move toward celebrating the season of harvest. We go to a harvest carnival at our church. We still dress up in costumes. They do harvest celebrations at school. We will still visit the pumpkin patch. I’m sure there will still be loads of candy and treats. I know there are a lot of people who will disagree with me, but I became more and more convicted that celebrating in a way that honors witches, vampires, devils and villains wasn’t right for our family. I know different families make different choices, but this is what I felt was right for us. I was the kid who wanted to always turn her house into a haunted house, and I made my parents decorate spooky every season. Those fake cobwebs were everywhere in my home growing up if I had anything to do with it. Trust me, it’s been a gradual and hard process. Wanting to move away from the Halloween theme, I’m exploring options for decorating pumpkins without making them into Jack-O-Lanterns. I think we will still have a lot of fun, and I’ll let you know what we came up with this year.Last year we avoided scary by doing our Sesame Street pumpkins. I started searching the web and found some beautiful options for no-carve pumpkin decorating. Today I want to celebrate those. I encourage you to head to these talented bloggers sites to see how they did it.
