Beautiful Outdoor Woodland Baby Shower
There is so much joy when the people you love start having babies. My sweet niece, Lucy, is pregnant, and we have much to celebrate with this new life.
When it comes to entertaining, no one does it better and seemingly more effortlessly than my sister. She is a natural in the kitchen, amazing with floral design, and seems to be able to make something out of nothing. The atmosphere she is able to create through natural elements is expecially impressive.
It helps that she has a beautiful outdoor space to accentuate the theme.
This shower reflects her talents, and I’m so excited to share it with you.

Part of the beauty of this baby shower was her collection of components.
I’m going to try and find similar items on Amazon to make some of the hunting for decorations easier for you, but I know my sister used things she had, borrowed, and hunted at second-hand stores or out in nature for much of it. I’ll try my best to get close.
Long folding tables were put together to make longer tables. These tables were covered with tablecloths, table runners, wooden slats, vases, flowers, a variety of whimsical mushrooms, and woodland creatures. The food also became part of the decorations, which I love. I love the collection of wooden chairs she gathered for the celebration.

Here is a list of some of the decorations she used for this Woodland-themed baby shower:
- Green Gingham Tablecloths
- Cream Cheesecloth Table Runners
- Long Wooden Table Runners were Actually Wooden Floor Planks – The cheesecloth table runners bunch in a way to cover the edges.
- Plastic Dutch Style Plates
- Dutch Style Paper Napkins
- Various Jars and Vases – Large and Small
- Velvet Mushroom Patch Decor – Found at Hobby Lobby – Here and here are some other options for smaller mushrooms.
- Wooden Bowls
- Variety of Flowers and Greenery – She has a lot of friends who grow flowers, but Trader Joe’s is always our go-to place when needing to purchase.
- Little Woodland Animals – like these, these, and these
- Charcuterie Boards – like this or this and a stackable one like this
- Drink Dispenser
- Outdoor Lights
- Cast Iron Skillets

Food Ideas for a Woodland Baby Shower
The way my sister presents food makes you want to dig in. It is an effortless presentation that enhances the natural beauty of the food itself. It’s simple and inviting. Adding natural greens really adds to the vibrancy of the plates.

For the main meal, there were charcuterie boards layered with a variety of cheeses, mini-toasts, figs (both whole and cut), champagne grapes, kumquats, Chocorooms, strawberries, blueberries, crackers, and dripping honeycomb.
In addition, she made little cheese sticks with tomato caps to represent mushrooms. She also made a cheese hedgehog like this one.
The drinks were lemonade and an Italian soda bar. For dessert, she had berry cobblers in skillets, which really added to the woodland theme. Here’s my super easy but amazing cobbler recipe – only 4 ingredients! It takes minutes to prepare. She also had adorable cupcakes.

I hope you enjoyed this beautiful shower. In addition to the food and decor, we had a lovely time of prayer, devotion, and time of singing praise to God as thanks for such a great gift.

Above are me, my mom, and my sister (not the one who threw the shower). The photo on the right is my niece and me.
