Carnation Breakfast Smoothie Recipes
These Carnation breakfast smoothie recipes are a great option for busy mornings or healthy snacks. I have created two recipes for you.
I picked up my container of Breakfast Essentials from Safeway. It can be found in the breakfast aisle. Carnation Breakfast Essentials® powder comes in a variety of flavors like rick milk chocolate, classic french vanilla, classic chocolate malt, dark chocolate, strawberry sensation, or you can grab a variety pack so you can try all the different flavors. I used the rich milk chocolate version for my recipes. There are a variety of ready to drink shakes and bars available too. For more nutritional information, please visit Carnation Breakfast Essentials.
For Kids – The first recipe I created for the kids. I wanted to create a kid friendly smoothie that I filled with even more nutrients than already in the powdered drink. Carnation Breakfast Essentials® powder already has 21 vitamins and minerals, 13g of Protein and as much calcium as a 6 oz cup of yogurt. It has a comparable amount of sugar as the kind of greek yogurt I buy too. I decided to add flax, a banana and some peanut butter to just pack it full of healthy nutrients. My kids enjoy the taste, and we can all enjoy the health benefits. Of course, parents can drink this version too, but scroll down to find the adult smoothie I enjoy.
Carnation Banana Smoothie with Peanut Butter and Flax
1 cup Milk
1 Tbsp Flax
1 Banana
6 Tbsp Carnation Breakfast Essentials
1/8 cup Peanut Butter
1 1/2 cups Ice
Combine all ingredients together in a blender until smooth.
For Adults – Are you suddenly wondering if I’m spiking my morning drinks? Well, if caffeine counts, I guess I am. The adult version of this drink contains espresso, which makes it a great way to get your coffee in the morning. I often have a breakfast meal and my morning latte. The latte adds about 250 calories to the breakfast. Making this Carnation version of a frappuccino provides me with the morning nutrients I need and the coffee I want for the same calories I would be consuming just in my latte. That feels like a win to me. Making this smoothie drink replaces either my breakfast, lunch or afternoon snack.
Breakfast Essential Mocha Frappuccino
1 cup Milk
6 Tbsp Carnation Breakfast Essentials
2 shots of Espresso
1 1/2 cups Ice
Combine all ingredients together in a blender until smooth. Make sure to add the shot to liquid within 10 seconds. It will become bitter if left too long.
