This DIY CD & Marble Forever Spinning Top will keep your little spinning kids entertained for quite a while. My son loves to spin things. From Beyblades to traditional spinning tops to fidget spinners(affiliate links), he loves to see how long he can make something twirl around. With this up-cycled spinning top, he has no problem making it revolve for quite some time.

I love to gather inspiration from everywhere. My friend, Jackie, gave me this idea a while back, but I haven’t had any marbles. No, I didn’t lose them. I just never had them to begin with. However, I was at someone’s house the other day who had a ton of marbles. They were nice enough to let me steal a few so I could finally do this easy yet fabulous idea.
Remember you are dealing with marbles, that are an item that little choke on. Although the marble is secured with hot glue, it can still be popped off and removed, making it a danger for kids under 3 or kids prone to stick things in their mouth. Monitor carefully.

Instructions for Making CD & Marble Forever Spinning Top
I will be providing a full video tutorial below to show you how easy this is, but I’ll provide written instructions as well.
- Color your CD with Sharpie. Kids can do whatever design they like. Doing a spiral from the center out looks super cool when spinning.
- Glue your marble onto the center of the CD. The marble nests in the hole perfectly. You want the image you’d like to see on top facing up as your glue the marble down.

I’ve given this type of spinning top a go. They worked great but we had a problem with the marbles falling out even after being hot glued. I think because they’re just so smooth. Any idea how to fix this issue?
Hmm…No, I didn’t really have this issue. Maybe I’d try super glue as it seems to hold everything tight.
