I do cakes as a hobby. My favorite chocolate cake recipe is found on the side of the Hershey cocoa powder box. It’s easy and yummy. I did a blind taste test with a number of my top recipes. This test was conducted a large party. This was the hands down favorite. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
Due to a better understanding of blogging, I have since removed this recipe. Here is a link to the Hershey’s recipe I was referencing. Sorry for the inconvenience.
How did you get your cupcakes to puff and some on the top? I’ve made this cake a few times now and every time it rises in the oven and flattens when it cools. Its still delicious, but not presentable to me.
You know, I’m not sure. It just kind of happens naturally. Two thoughts. Did you fill your cupcake liners enough? I fill mine between 2/3 and 3/4 full. I cook with gas, which I know can make a difference in baking. My final thought is pans. I haven’t experimented with cupcakes, but I have experimented with cookies and know that there can be a huge discrepancy based on what pan is used. I am a fairly frugal person, but I will splurge on the quality of my cookie sheets and bakeware. This is an affiliate link to the cupcakes pans I use: http://goo.gl/mr20WX. I hope that helps. Just in case your curious here’s an affiliate link to my cookie sheet as well: http://goo.gl/AQuHMj
make sure you use the correct amount of soda and powder. this helps them rise. Beat the mix appropriately with out over beating it makes it fluffier
Thanks so much. Great advice!
