We were getting our carpet cleaned today, so our house looked like this:
We are not suppose to be on the carpet for 24 hours, which makes giving you something amazing here will be hard. I thought I would just share with you what our day looked like today. It was an errand day with a couple special dates.
We went to Starbucks for breakfast. In the Pacific NW, it’s a given for us. Abby could say Starbucks and pick them out as we were driving along at age 2. Pretty pathetic – I know. They did a great job using indoor voices, staying at their chairs and using their manners. I always try to prep them before we head into a place like that.
Next, it was errands. We went to the bank, dry cleaners, Goodwill and Michael’s. I had taken this video a while back and thought it might be helpful to see the flavor of our conversations before we head into places.
Our final stop before nap was McDonald’s. We don’t do McDonald’s very often because health is important to me. I know there are some healthier options there too, but I let them, within reason, have choices while we are there. I figure that if fast food isn’t a common thing, having it in moderation can’t be too bad. It’s too bad there aren’t healthier options with play structures. The play structures really do come in handy when you have a day you need to be out of the house or just when you need a little bit of a break. Maybe that’s why they say, “You deserve a break today…”
My mother-in-law blessed me by taking them for a couple hours in the evening. while I had some time to run other errands.
That’s what our day looked like on a rainy day where we had to stay out of the house.
