We have now adopted “I Will” statements for our character development series. We made this cute board to highlight the focus phrases. I got the idea for “I Will” Statements from “Character First,” a character based curriculum. Although I haven’t used a lot of their content, I wanted to give them credit for this idea. Our four phrases this week are:
Optimism
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” – Philippians 4:8
Bonus points if you caught that I changed the verse from yesterday. I absolutely love this verse, and I can’t believe I didn’t think about it when trying to find a verse for this week. It is one of my favorite verses I cling to if I get into a negative spiral in my thoughts.
1. I will think about the positive in situations.
2. I will look for the good in people.
3. I will have hope.
4. I will think good thoughts.
