A new blog friend stopped my blog to let me know that they are also focusing on character and had done a project on contentment recently. Here is the project she directed me to. The main idea is that to be content, you need to focus on the things you are thankful for in your own lives. You can click through to “It’s the Little Things” to see their version. It’s fabulous. The concept is to draw a giraffe, hang it on the wall, and throughout the day add brown spots as you think of more things you are thankful for. By focusing on these positive things, you’ll learn to be more content with the things you have been given rather than always yearning for the things you don’t have.
This is a good idea! My kids are always telling me “I want…I want…I want” My kids like to craft so i just may have to give this a shot! Thanks for this idea!!
This is a wonderful idea! I love it. I’m following you from True Aim linky party. Glad I found your blog. Hope you can visit mine sometime.
Content with such things as we have… love it! Thanks! http://wp.me/p1RlRY-5s
Great activity. It is always better to have children do something hands on rather than just talking with them about it. I have been trying to emphasize how other people don’t have as much as we do. Hopefully this will reinforce that! Thanks for sharing at Mom’s Library!
Featuring you this week!
LOVE this idea! Great way to get the kiddos involved in being thankful for what we have. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
