Do you remember making these as a kid? I kind of forgot about it. We have an amazing woman who watches our kids during Bible Study at church. She treats it more as a preschool and definitely takes child care to a new level. The girls came home with these fabulous bird feeders. All you do is add peanut butter to a large pine cone and then you roll it in bird seed. I was curious if these were harmful for birds, and I found this source saying they were perfectly fine. The days I have Bible Study in the mornings can get awful busy for me, so I’m so glad to have someone to step in and be meaningful with my kids while I’m getting fed in a different way.
Such a great idea! I need to do this with my grandkids. Thanks so much for sharing.
I totally remember doing this as a kid! I mentioned it to some friends the other day, though, and apparently not everyone does. Made some with my 2 year-old today, though. :o)
What a cute idea! Thank you for sharing. I blogged this today as part of a list of ideas to try when you can’t plant a tree for Arbor Day. You can check it out here:

Thanks so much for linking back! What a great post. I feel bad because my pictures were blurry. Some of that happened in my switch from Blogger to Word Press. I’ve fixed the pictures on that post if you want to grab one that is a bit clearer. It’s going to be fun to poke around your blog more.
