Purpose
“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that will prevail.”
– Proverbs 19:21
Today we talked about setting and accomplishing goals. I said that when you have a goal, it helps you accomplish more and gives you purpose. To practice setting goals, I brought out a ring toss. You could do anything for this activity really – beating your own time running, shooting baskets, hitting or kicking a ball a certain distance or to a certain spot. The options are endless. The kids haven’t played the ring toss a lot, and today we had an opportunity to set goals, practice and learn new skills. The girls were throwing like Kenzie (above) until my husband, mostly, taught them to throw like a frisbee. Kenzie set the goal of getting one of the rings hooked. Abby wanted to eventually hook all three. My husband and I also set goals. My husband wanted to hook on his first round. I wanted to try and hook all three in one toss. It was a fun time together. It gave them a deeper sense of accomplishing goals and focusing on one task until it is accomplished.
Lovely, Mom…just lovely! Keep up the great job of parenting and pouring holiness into your little ones. God is using you in great and mighty ways for His purpose.
