Here’s a great Object Lesson for Kindness – The Domino Effect. As we raise kids to live with character and concern for others, kindness is a trait that needs to be emphasized.
Kids learn through object lessons and hands-on experience. This character building lesson on kindness provides both.
Object Lesson for Kindness – The Domino Effect
Subject: Kindness
Kindness Bible Verse: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32
Objective: Kids will see that kindness is contagious.
Ask the Following Question:
- Can you remember a time when someone was very kind to you?
- When someone shows kindness, how do you think that impacts other people’s behavior?
- Have you ever made a domino chain? How does it work?
Build a Domino Chain as an Object Lesson for Kindness
Explain that by doing kind acts we can inspire others to do the same.
The more people are treated with kindness, the more they have it in their hearts to spread that kindness.
We set up the dominoes…believe me it took a while with these kids…and then were able to watch the chain reaction.
I hope you are inspired to start the “Pay it Forward” chain. I hope my kids are inspired too. We need more kindness in this world.
CHARACTER BUILDING EDUCATION SERIES
Welcome to my character building education series where we work on 52 traits throughout the year. 52 traits? Yes! That is one character building trait for every single week of the year.
More good news! Each trait comes with over a week’s worth of lessons. You could work on character with your kids every single day of the year if you chose to follow along.
This character building activity focuses on kindness. Here is our initial lesson in kindness. If following the series, always do that lesson first. Click here for all of my lessons on kindness.
