Today I wanted the girls to look at pleasant and unpleasant facial expressions. The first thing I had them do was look at themselves. I thought it would be interesting to do a post of all the not so fun moments in our lives because I think blogs can often make a house look so fun and peaceful all the time, when really it’s just plain hard some of the time. I may still do that post, but part of preparing for it has been capturing some of the not-so-pleasant moments with my camera. No one takes or shares those ones, right? Well, I probably will. I will share a few today because that’s what I did with my kids. I showed them their own pictures and had them determine whether they were being pleasant or unpleasant.
Pleasant
“Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” – Proverbs 16:24
OK – Here’s Abby. Can you determine which ones are pleasant and unpleasant?
Kenzie’s turn. Which ones are pleasant and which ones are unpleasant?
After they were able to look at themselves and see which ones seemed pleasant to them, I had them draw faces that seemed pleasant on one side of a paper plate and unpleasant on the other. We will be using those faces for an activity later this week.
