Part of learning to be pleasant is learning to have a pleasant voice. Today I decided to do a megaphone craft that exclaimed, “Make a Joyful Noise,” taken from the Bible verse Psalm 98:4. The concept is that making a joyful noise to God isn’t just about singing. It is about letting the words and noises coming from our mouths glorify God. These are words and sounds that are pleasant. Does whining glorify the Lord? I think not. Do kind words glorify the Lord? Yes, they do. We made our megaphones and then the kids took turns making joyful, pleasant sounds.
I took some cups and wrote, “Make a joyful noise,” on the side. Then, I let the kids decorate them. I then cut out the bottom of the cup with a knife to create our megaphone.
