There is a really fun book out there called “Pots and Pans.” We pull it out every once in a while and have a fabulous drum band in the kitchen.
It’s a great rhyming book that starts, “Pots and pans. Pots and pans. Everyone bang those pots and pans. Bang those lids, clang those pans. Everybody bang those pots and pans.”
If you don’t have or want to buy the book, just get out the pots and pans and let them go for it. You can join in the fun too. Add some of your favorite music to make it even more fun.
My kids LOVE to take the pots and pans out of the cabinet and play with them! I put this book on hold at the library – thanks for the recommendation!
Glad your library had it. They’ll love it.
Congrats, I have chosen to pass along the One Lovely Blog Award to you.

Thanks so much. I am slammed today trying to get out of town. I’ll hopefully be able to get to it in the next couple days while I have some down time. What an honor.
Thanks Jodi for stopping by my blog (vonnylein) the other day and for the sweet comments! I am SO impressed with how much you are able to write each day. You are phenomenal! Your photo is great – we are a huge fan of drumming on just about anything we can find in the kitchen. My son saw an empty coffee can that I brought home from a friend’s place and instinctively picked it up and started banging on it. 🙂
I’m going to try to get my hands on that book!
Have a great rest of your weekend.
yvonne.
Thanks so much, Yvonne. It’s funny with the blog I jumped in with both feet pretty impulsively about two days before I decided to launch (January 1st). So, everyday I’m kind of flying by the seat of my pants. I’m going away for a few days, so I hope to have a little “planning time.” I’m in a decent rhythm, although it’s a lot to write each day. I try to take the first bit of nap and quiet time to get it done so it’s not taking away from my husband and kids. Still trying to navigate that balance. Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you’ll be back.
AWESOME photo! That book sounds really fun. I bet it is perfect for a 1 or 2 year old…
It’s great. Since your blog is based around books, I’d highly recommend it for preschool kids…especially with the activity attached. It’s just got a musical rhythm to it.
