I saw an idea on The Growing Room, but it related to reading. I still want to do this idea, but I have wanted to find a way to teach my daughter how to read two digit numbers, and I thought the plastic egg idea would be perfect. She has never picked up on something so quickly. It just clicked. She had already known how to count by tens, but she hadn’t grasped reading two digit numbers yet. This did it…and quickly. It was easy to make with some labels, scissors and eggs. If you don’t have labels, you could also use tape.
OOh! I am adding this to my “kindergarten teacher” file!
Oh good! It seriously worked like a charm. 🙂
What a smart idea! Thanks for linking up at Etcetorize~

Thanks, Lori!
I read that post too – I like how to put the number twist on it!

Thanks. I still want to do the words, but I can’t tell you how quickly this worked with my daughter.
Brilliant!! Thanks so much for sharing this with us as well.
No problem. They were easy to make and really helped my daughter win. Thanks!
Great use of eggs to incorporate math! Saw you featured at Cachey Mama!
Thanks! I’ve needed to work on math more with my kids, and this was the perfect opportunity.
